Korea VLOG: The War Memorial of Korea Part 2 (전쟁기념관)

This is the second part of The War Memorial of Korea. Last time I wrote about the outdoor exhibition place. This time I'll show some picture from the indoor exhibition room. The picture beside is the replica of General Yi Sun Shin turtle ship.

The War Memorial of Korea is divided into indoor and outdoor exhibits and contains about 9,000 artifacts. The indoor exhibition space, about 110.770 m2, is made up of seven halls: The Memorial hall, The War History Room, The Korean War Room, The Expeditionary Forces Room, The Armed Forces Room, The Large Equipment Room and The Korean Defense Industries Room.
In these rooms, records from the three kingdoms era until present, of war and war heroes were keep here. These things are displayed in real, replica, diorama, record, and other forms of media. The Korean War Room shows the cause of that war and course of the war until armistice in order to give a clear understanding of the Korean War.
South Korea has withstood the never-ending threat of other nations with the strong nationalism that has develop into current Korea. The patriotism of forefathers started from the time of the three nations as well as through the Koryeo dynasty, Chosun dynasty and the Today. The Memorial Hall is a place to think back about the great pain that this nation went through.
The Exhibition Hall for Donated Relics displays 936 items out of more than 13,000 items of relics collected through donation from 990 donors since the opening of the War Memorial. These exhibits contain the touching series of numerous people who personally experienced and participated in the War.
The Deployment of Armed Forces to Vietnam Hall displays various aspects of the deployment of approximately 320,000 personnel of the Korean Armed Forces to Vietnam over a period 8 years and 6 months from September 1964 to March 1973. The deployment had a significant influence on the modern history of Korea.
A wide range of reproduced scenes, including the background and the process of the military deployment as well as the key operations, civil affairs and psychological warfare are displayed. Diorama techniques and models of tactical military bases aid in the understanding of the material.

The Defense room shows defense equipment made by domestic technology. Tanks fit for Korean territory, armed vehicles, canons war ships, air craft, and radar are sold to fulfill the Korean needs as well as oversea sale. There is a display of air craft to gas mask total of 208 categories of 813 products from 25 companies.

Bibimbap - 비빔밥

Introduction Bibimbap is a signature Korean dish. The word literally means "mixed rice". Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sauteed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating. It can be served either cold or hot. In Korea, Jeonju, Jinju, and Tongyeong are especially famous for their versions of bibimbap . In 2011, it was listed at number 40 on the World's 50 most delicious foods readers' poll compiled by CNN Travel. History Bibimbap is first mentioned in the Siuijeonseo , an anonymous cookbook from the late 19th century. There its name is given as 부븸밥 ( bubuimbap ).
