Haeundae Beach - 해운대해수욕장

Introduction Haeundae Beach (해운대해수욕장) is probably the most famous beach in the country. "Haeundae" was so named by scholar Choi Chi-Won (857~?) of the Silla Dynasty (BC 57~AD 935). When he was walking past Dongbaekdo Island, he was fascinated by it and left the carved words "Hae Un Dae" on a stone wall on the island. Haeundae is located at the southeast end of the city of Busan. Haeundae is 1.5 km long, 30~50 m wide, and spans an area of 58,400 ㎡. The white sand is rough and sticks easily to your skin. The sand of this beach is composed of sand that comes from Chuncheon Stream and shells that have been naturally eroded by the wind over time. Introduction Bibimbap is a signature Korean dish. The word literally means "mixed rice". Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sauteed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste). Introduction The Busan Museum, offers seven regular exhibition rooms spread over three floors in addition to the Kiln Exhibition Hall, and the Outdoor Exhibition Hall. Opened in 1978, the museum has taken on a leading role in preserving traditional culture in Busan by obtaining a wealth of relics from strong excavation efforts, generous donations and purchases, and by meticulous research. Introductiom Tteokgalbi is a type of Korean food made from galbi, or short ribs. It is believed to originate in Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do or Songjeong-ri, Gwangju, South Korea. Currently, it can be found all over South Korea. It is made by shaping a mixture of beef and pork into rectangular appearance then grilled on charcoal. The reason pork and beef are mixed is that beef alone is too dry, so pork is added to make it more fatty. The leftover rib bones are sometimes boiled to make broth. Introduction Tofu jorim is a Korean side dish primarily made with tofu. In Korean, dubu translates into tofu and jorim literally means braised. However, tofu is not slowly cooked but rather pan fried for few minutes and then re-fried once more with a mixture of soy sauce, gochugaru, minced garlic, green onions along with other ingredients.
