Plot
As it has done for ages, the Han River continues to pierce the very center of the capital city Seoul. But one day in the year 2000.. Through an unfortunate incident, a creature of an obscure nature is conceived in the waters of the river. As the creature slowly starts to grow in the depths of the river, people fail to signs of an impending disaster, devoting themselves to the Korea-Japan World Cup soccer finals, the President elections and to their individual lives. Then one day in 2005, in front of countless citizens taking a stroll and enjoying the weekend on the banks of the Han River, the creature reveals itself in shocking display of horror.
And mass slaughter in an instant, the riverbank is turned into a gruesome sea of blood. The main character Gang Du is a man who passes tedious days operating a snack bar next to the river. On that day of great destruction, he witnesses his one and only daughter eaten up by the creature right before his eyes.
The sudden appearance unforeseen and unexpected circumstances renders the government and state powerless to act. And the once-ordinary citizen Gang Du and his family are thrust into a battle with the monster to rescue Hyun Seo. On the banks of the river, which are completely closed off by the goverment and declared a danger zone, Gang Du and his family rush into an unstoppable showdown with the monster.

Review
On 2000, at an U.S. Army Base Yongsan, Korea, a researcher pouring many toxic chemical into the drainage and those end up at Han River. One day, on 2005, when the citizens enjoying the weekends on the banks of the river, the citizens saw something strange hanging under the bridge. They start gathering and saw that thing fall into the water. Gang Du throwing a beer can to the river and it disappear. The others start to throwing the can, when the thing comes out from the river ans start chasing the citizens. Gang Du running away and told the citizens too run. Gang Du and a foreigner trying to attacking the monster. While Hyun Seo and Hee Bong watching Nam Joo matches on their food stand, they don't know there's a monster outside.
When Hyun Seo come out from the stand, Gang Du grab her and run away. They fell, Gang Du running again while grabbing other's daughter. When he realized it, the monster taken Hyun Seo and dive to Han River. Gang Du jumping to the river try to saved his daughter, but he saw the monster swallowing Hyun Seo. The Government evacuated the citizens from around Han River. All of the family gather on the hall for funeral, Nam Il come and blames Gang Du.
Gand Du and his family was dragged to the hospital, they isolated Gang Du because he contacted with the monster blood. That night, Gang Du got a telephone call from his daughter. Hyun Seo tried to tell him where is she. Gang Du try to tell the police officer about her daughter, but the officer won't listen to him. The family try to escaping from the hospital to saving Hyun Seo. Every time the monster bring back the dead body to the den, Hyun Seo checking if they still alive and try to find their handphone.
The family escaping from the hospital, Park Hee Bong used all his money to rent a desinfectant truck, map of the sewer, and rifles. Meanwhile, The police putting up the family picture on wanted list. The family going around inside the sewer to find Hyun Seo. They going back to the food stand to rest and eat. While waiting for help, Hyun Seo found a boy who still alive at the sewer. Hyun Seo hugging him when the monster back to the den. At the food stand, while Hee Bong talking to his son and daughter, Gang Du spotting the monster outside their food stand. Hee Bong shot the monster, and the monster attacking the food stand.
Hee Bong hit it, and the monster run to the river. The family run after the monster, they following the monster around. The monster hide in the bridge. While the family run out the bullets, the monster run after them. Hee Bong take Gang Du's rifle. When he tried to shot the monster, the rifle is empty. The monster smashing Hee Bong and he is died. Nam Il grabbing Nam Joo and run away. Gang Du arrested by the police, because he can't leave Hee Bong's dead body.
Nam Il went to met his friend and ask him to located Hyun Seo's handphone. While Nam Il searching the location of Hyun Seo, his friend calls for the police. When Nam Il got the location, the police tried to arrested him. Nam Il succesfully escape from them. But the police keep tracking him down. Nam Il jump from a bridge, and he message Nam Joo to tell about Hyun Seo location before he faint.
Nam Joo go to the Wonyo bridge to hunt the monster. Nam Joo call Gang Du about Hyun Seo whereabout before the monster bump in to Nam Joo. She fell down and faint. The monster tried to catch her but failed. Meanwhile, Gang Du struggling with the researcher and try to escape from there. Gang Du take a hostage and flew away to Wonyo Bridge. Meanwhile, Hyun Seo gathering the clothes from the dead body, she makes a rope for escape from the den. The monster realiza Hyun Seo still alive and it attacking Hyun Seo and Se Joo.
Nam Il Wakes and going to Wonyo Bridge. Gang Du arrived at the sewer and running around calling for Hyun Seo. While the monster was asleep, Hyun Seo tried to escape, but the monster catch her. Gang Du found out the den, but Hyun Seo disappear. He saw the monster, and chasing it. The Government releasing agent yellow to attack the monster. While the monster faint, Gang Du try to pull Hyun Seo and Se Joo from the monster. But Hyon Seo already died while she hugging Se Joo. Gang Du, Nam Il and Nam Joo together attacking the monster. Gang Du killed it. Gang D u taking Se joo and raised him as his son. -The End-
I think it's a sad movie.. Heung heung. Well, I'm not actually crying while watching the movie, but it's sad. Enjoy watching the movie^^
