Nurimaru APEC House - 누리마루 APEC하우스
Introduction
The name Nurimaru APEC House is created by combining the Korean words nuri (world) and maru (summit), and "APEC House" which refers to an APEC conference hall. Collectively, it means "a house where the world summits gather together for an APEC meeting".
Located on Dongbaekseom Island, which is noted for its beautiful, natural landscape accented by dense camellia and pine trees. Nurimaru APEC house has been used as a memorial hall and a prestigious international conference hall since the APEC summit meeting. Nurimaru, a 3-story building, is a modernistic expression of "jeongja", a pavilion in traditional Korean architectural style. It's roof shape symbolizes the ridgeline of Dongbaekseom Island. Its interior design is a visual display of Korea's creative traditional culture.
The terrace, which has a Korean wooden floor concept, towers over Oryukdo Island, Gwangan Bridge and Dallmaji Hill. Located near Haeundae Beach, it not only overs a spectacular view of the beach, but also has the appearance of a reputable international conference hall featuring both modern and natural beauty.
Floorplans
First Floor
The facade of the building is in Piloti style, having pillars and empty spaces against possible tidal waves and typhoons. The rear side is equipped with the machine room and the exhibition room.
Second Floor
Inside the 2nd floor, the front is finished with glass walls and the ceiling is decorated with an applied design of the pattern taegeuk so as to create an open welcoming space. The terrace, modeled after the main wooden floor of a Korean traditional house, was built to command a good view of the islets Oryukdo, the Gwangan Bridge and Dalmaji Hill.
This space will be used as a high-grade conference hall for domestic and international purposes.
Third Floor
The interior ceiling of the conference hall located on 3rd floor has a Seokguram grotto motif, which represents the utmost of Korean beauty. The wall was finished with Korean-style latticework and natural silk in pursuit of moderation and stability, helping to make this space look more traditional. Also, one wall of the antechamber is decorated with a hanging frame of the original whole text of Hunminjeongeum, or the Correct Sounds for Educating the People, while one wall of the lobby at the entrance is decorated with a lacquerwork inlaid with mother-of-pearl that depicts Sibijangasengdo, A Picture of 12 Longevity Symbols, which is housed in the National Palace Museum in the palace Changdeokgung.

1. By Bus
Busan Station - Take seat bus no. 1003 (duration: 50 minutes; every 15 minutes from 04:20 - 22:20) or city bus no. 40 or 139 (duration: 67 minutes; every 15 minutes from 04:50 - 22:20) and get off at Unchon - Walk about five minutes.
2. By Subway
Busan Station (subway line 1) - Transfer to line 2 at Seomyeon Station - Get off at Dongbaek Station (duration: 46 minutes) - Take exit 1 from Dongbaek Station and walk 10 minutes.
