Introduction As one of the busiest streets in Busan, Seomyeon 1 Beonga is also known as the Art street. It stretches over 330m (8m in width) connecting former Cheonujang and the LG Service Center. The street is bustling with life all day long, full of cafes, bars, and restaurants that offer delicious, but inexpensive food and drinks; naturally, it attracts many young people. In addition, it offers a wide array of entertainment spots such as movie theaters, performances halls, and game facilities. Introduction Heukimjajuk (hangul: 흑임자죽; black sesame and rice porridge) is a juk made of ground black sesame seeds and rice. Heukimja means black sesame. Heukimjajuk has a unique flavor, and since it is a high calorie food and easy to digest, it is usually eaten to aid the body in repairing itself after an illness. While it's main ingredient is typically black sesame, occasionally white sesame is used instead, though it is still refered to as heukimjajuk. Recipe Ingredients 2 tbs toasted black sesame seeds 3 tbs sweet rice flour 1 1/2 Cup water 1/2 ts salt Garnish a dried jujube with the pit taken removed a few pumpkin seeds Directions Toast sesame seeds Put the black sesame seeds into a strainer and scrub them under running water.
